Faith, Hope and Love, A Trilogy By Gary Ng

“A Trilogy: Faith, Hope, Love” is Hong-Kong based artist Gary Ng’s highly personal response to the political and social turbulence of 2014. Intended as a futuristic response to George Orwell’s 1984 and Chris Marker’s film La Jetée (1962). Incorporating Ng’s own photographs alongside found and glitched images from the web, Ng’s project imagines a world thirty years from now, at once familiar, sensuous and unsettling. The images are accompanied by a poetry of omission in which dictionary texts are selectively erased and elided. Gary Ng was a finalist for The 7th Three Shadow Photography Arts Award in Beijing China, and for the 3rd Hong Kong Photobook Award.
